As the Housing Authority of the County of Los Angeles, the CDC empowers families by providing clean, safe and decent affordable housing for low-income families, seniors, and disabled persons. The Housing Authority manages more than 3,600 units of public and other affordable housing at 68 sites throughout Los Angeles County.

Also through the Housing Authority, the CDC helps more than 17,000 low-income families and senior citizens find affordable housing with private landlords through the federal Section 8 program.

The Community Development Commission helps to strengthen neighborhoods, empower families, support local economics, and promote individual achievement.
